your set is real human hair that no longer gets fed by a scalp. treat it like silk, follow the rhythm below, and it stays soft, shiny and seamless between visits.
the first 48 hours
fresh set? give it 48 hours before the first wash so the rows can settle in
a little tenderness at the rows for the first few days is completely normal. the why your scalp is adjusting to a new, gentle weight it has never carried
keep it in a loose low style, no tight high ponies or slicked buns in week one
sleep in a loose braid from night one, it sets the habit your set will live on
anything feels more than tender, like pulling or pain, message or come in. we would rather check it early
wash day ritual
brush before water touches it: start at the ends, work up, hold the row as you go
shampoo your roots and scalp only, twice if you need it. the lengths get clean in the rinse down
use sulfate free shampoo. the why sulfates strip the oils extension hair cannot replace on its own
condition and mask from the ears down, never on the rows, so they stay weightless and secure
finish with a cool rinse. the why cool water flattens the cuticle, and a flat cuticle is where shine lives
squeeze with a towel, never rub, never wring. a microfibre towel is your best friend
heat protect, then dry the rows completely, roots to tips. damp wefts are how sets slip and matt
never sleep on wet hair. not once, not a little damp, never
everyday: brushing, products + styling
brush morning and night with a soft bristle or loop brush: ends first, work up, one hand holding the row
a lightweight leave-in through the mid lengths daily if it feels thirsty, a drop of oil on the ends only
keep anything oily, heavy or silicone rich away from the rows and roots. the why slippery product at the row loosens the hold
hot tools under 180°c with heat protectant, every single time. your set does not regrow, so burnt is burnt
trying a new product? test it on one hidden weft first and see how it behaves for a few days
your set loves routine more than it loves expensive products. consistency is the actual secret
sleep, gym + sweat
sleep in a loose braid or a soft low pony, on silk or satin if you have it. the why less friction overnight means less tangling and less shedding
mornings: brush out from the ends up, a little leave-in through the mid lengths if it needs it
gym: hair up and off your neck before you start, then rinse and fully dry the rows after a sweaty session
salt from sweat loves to sit in wefts and dry them out, so a quick rinse beats a skipped one
helmets, headrests and backpack straps: pull your hair forward over your shoulders first
pools, beach + holidays
before you swim, soak your hair in clean water and run conditioner through the lengths. the why hair that is already full cannot drink the chlorine or salt
braid it for the swim, rinse in fresh water straight after, and fully dry the rows before bed
pack list for holidays: your brush, leave-in, a silk scrunchie and heat protectant. that is the whole kit
sunscreen with avobenzone can turn blonde hair peachy, so keep spray sunscreen off your lengths
home from a big beach trip? book a treatment, your set will thank you loudly
colour + toning
never box dye, and never colour over your set at home. the why extension hair grabs pigment faster and darker than your own
toners, gloss and colour refreshes happen with us, so your blend stays seamless
purple shampoo: once a fortnight at most, diluted, quick rinse. left to sit, it will over-tone a weft
feeling dry, dull or brassy? book a treatment and toner instead of fighting it at home. it is a 30 minute fix
is this normal?
a few strands in your brush: normal. hair sheds even when it is hand tied into a weft
snug rows and a tender scalp in week one: normal, it settles as the rows soften in
a light itch while your scalp adjusts: normal. clean, fully dried rows and fingertip massages help, nails do not
not normal: pain, constant pulling, a row that moves, or matting you cannot brush through. that is a message-us moment, not a push-through moment
your stylist books your next visit before you leave, so your set never reaches the heavy, grown-out stage
make this your hair manual 🤎 open this page in safari or chrome, tap share, then add to home screen. it will sit on your phone like an app.
hair sos
something feels off? start here
a row feels loose or slipping
do not pull, twist or test it. keep it in a loose style and book a check. caught early, it is a quick fix.
matting at the nape
usually from sleeping damp or a skipped brush day. load the area with leave-in, separate gently with fingers, then brush from the ends up. if it will not give, come in. do not cut it.
toner gone too ashy or brassy
do not fix it at home, extension hair grabs pigment fast. a treatment and toner with us is a 30 minute fix.
itchy in the first week
normal while your scalp adjusts. keep the rows clean and fully dry, massage with fingertips not nails. still itchy after a week, or it hurts? come in.
more than a few strands shedding
a little in the brush is normal. handfuls, or a row that suddenly feels thinner, is not. send us a photo and we will tell you straight away if it needs a look.
a thin, flexible curtain of real hair, tied by hand. lies flat, moves like your own, the only kind we fit.
row
one line of weft sewn onto a tiny, hidden foundation in your hair. most sets are one to three rows.
pack
how hair is measured. a typical full head uses three packs, built into your rows.
move up
your maintenance visit. the rows have grown down with your hair, so we lift them back up. one row takes about an hour, two to three rows about 90 minutes.
design session
a $50 sit-down where we plan your colour, length and set. it comes straight off your install.
toner
the in-salon gloss that keeps blonde bright and brunette rich, on your hair and your set together.
blend + cut in
the shaping that makes a set disappear. extensions are not the look, seamless is the look.
all-in pricing
one number that covers the hair and the fitting. no add-ons appearing at the till.
pricing + the hair
zero guesswork, no surprise extras
every set is designed and quoted at your consult, in person or from your photos. no generic menu guessing
sets run from $450 to $2,229 all-in: the hair, the fitting, everything in one number. the top end is the longest, thickest transformations
hand tied wefts in 22" to 28" lengths. 28" is a special order with its own signed order and deposit
a 20% deposit holds every booking · 48 hours notice to reschedule or cancel
